SIRADA  HOUSE  RENOAVATION

Sirada House is a renovation of a more than 20-year-old residence located in a small village of only 35 houses, offering a quiet and private environment. This renovation began as the family grew and required more functional space, while the existing house was experiencing water leaks and termite issues. The project not only addressed these problems but also expanded the total area to 421 sqm.

The brief from the owners emphasized that the house should be as private as possible and retain as many existing large trees as possible, as the family loves spending time surrounded by nature. The interior should connect seamlessly with the surrounding garden, while also mitigating the heat from the west-facing façade.

The architect and interior designer collaborated to maximize the use of every space. The house has almost no corridors, a common feature in traditional houses; instead, rooms and functional areas are directly connected, making every square meter meaningful and usable. Even the staircase hall doubles as a small seating area before the bedrooms. The ground floor features large glass panels that visually connect the interior to the garden, enhancing the flow between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The front façade is designed with perforated aluminum panels arranged as a double screen to filter sunlight, reduce heat, and enhance privacy, while also adding a new architectural dimension to the house. The interior design follows the concept of “balance,” where every element is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and practical for daily life.

Upon completion, Sirada House became a residence fully embraced by gardens and large trees. The family now enjoys their own private worlds, yet remains closely connected to nature. Each member has their favorite space for personal activities, whether reading, playing music, or exercising. The house embodies a “House of Balance,” harmonizing privacy, functionality, and simple joys of life.
